Hi, my name is Judy O’Donnell from Mt Martha and I welcome all refugees to our beautiful country , especially when they are coming from such atrocious conditions in their country. We all live on one planet and I know from my extensive traveling that they would do the same if we were in their situation.

I am asking for a change in our refugee policy because it is selfish, inhumane and harming not only those seeking refuge, but the heart of Australia. What you are doing is wrong.

I am Kathy from Suffolk Park and I want us to share our huge lucky country with those less fortunate. I want to see a stop to the cruelty to the people we have currently in detention.

I am asking for change in our Refugee Policy because I want everyone, especially young people like myself, from all around the world to have access to the same opportunities I have. Everyone has the right to a safe, happy environment and Australia can provide this for so many innocent, brave, deserving people.

Not a day passes that I don’t think of our sisters and brothers locked up in permanent detention and I struggle to come to terms with my fellow Australians who believe this is an acceptable way to treat those in dire need of our protection.

I support our friends who have come here to build their futures in safety. I think it is abhorrent that we as a nation are knowingly and intentionally harming people in the name of deterring others who seek safety here. I know we can do better. I support refugees by giving emotional support via Facebook. I donate to refugee organisations & I attend vigils & rallies. I do this because their situation is so dire thanks to our government’s policies

I am Steph from Frankston. I support asylum seekers by being a regular sponsor of UNHCR Emergency Relief. Every person has a right to seek sanctuary. Australia has a responsibility to provide it. A warzone is no place for children and their families.
